| The Nanotech 350UPM is a large capacity ultra-precision micro-milling system featuring a vertically configured 60,000 RPM liquid cooled air bearing spindle. This machine was designed for diamond micro-milling of aspheric lens arrays and micro-channeled structures requiring optical surface finishes or mechanical tolerances beyond the realm of conventional machine tool capabilities. The machine offers a work area volume of 350mm wide X 350mm long X 150mm high.
The machine features our latest advancements in "precision engineered" designs and components. These include high stiffness hydrostatic oil bearing slide ways, state-of-the-art linear motor drives with sinusoidal drive amplifiers, thermally stable ceramic spindle mounting riser, and an integrated thermal management system. This thermal management system includes strategically imbedded thermo couplers for real time in-situ thermal monitoring of fluids and integral components. Data is captured and stored using Nanotech’s exclusive NanoTemp Software System. In addition, a triple loop chiller system provides continuous temperature control of the milling spindle coolant, as well as tempering of the milling spindle air supply and hydrostatic slide oil.
Due to the high overall loop stiffness and exceptional quality and enhanced technical performance of all major components used on the Nanotech 350UPM, this machine provides superb cutting performance. Our optional C-axis Oil Hydro-static rotary axis allows simple expansion of the basic three axis mill to four axes of continuous path motion.
